The travel agency Zeilinger AG was founded in November 1977 by Else and Alfred Zeilinger as the first independent travel agency between Rapperswil and Zurich. At that time there was no fax, let alone a cell phone. The connection to the big wide world was via landline telephony or telex. Our office was one of the first to have a computer and was directly connected to the Swissair reservation system. Fares were still calculated by hand at that time.

There was usually one charter flight per week to destinations on the Mediterranean, and scheduled flights to European cities and overseas were not offered daily. Back then, special fares in economy class cost almost as much as business class fares do today. What a change!
