Safelec is a company specializing in the inspection of electrical installations in Switzerland based on the Ordinance on Low-Voltage Electrical Installations (OIBT) of November 7, 2001. Revision of the OIBT 2017.

The Low Voltage Electrical Installations Ordinance (OIBT) came into force on January 1, 2002. The owner is now responsible for the electrical installation in their building. They must ensure that the basic safety requirements for electrical installations are met and that the installation is maintained.
