Our history

Founded in 1987 with the opening of three diagnostic laboratories in Switzerland, the Unilabs group grew rapidly by acquiring high-quality partner laboratories across Europe. In 2007, Unilabs merged with the large diagnostic imaging company Capio, which operates in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. This merger made Unilabs the undisputed leader in diagnostic services in Europe.

We continued to expand our activities in parallel with our portfolio of cutting-edge diagnostic services, growing from a European company to a global player and offering new services in genetic medicine and pathology, among many other disciplines.

By combining its numerous sites, wide range of services, and unique culture based on the CARE BIG motto, Unilabs aims to advance diagnostic expertise and services around the world and place its mission at the heart and foundation of good therapeutic choices.
