SPITEX Region Thun AG brings quality of life to your home

SPITEX Region Thun AG is a non-profit company that provides home help and care on behalf of the canton of Bern.

The catchment area of SPITEX Region Thun AG covers the municipalities of Thun, Spiez, Heimberg, and Sigriswil, with a total population of 62,700.

As one of the largest SPITEX organizations in the canton of Bern, we are able to align our operations with new developments and requirements in terms of service provision, quality of work, and financing. We have reached a size that enables us to further develop special services such as palliative care, psychosocial care, dementia support, housekeeping, care, and support in cooperation with Thun Hospital, retirement homes, doctors' offices, etc., in addition to our core services.


Our goals

Our goal is to provide support that meets the needs of our patients so that they can remain in their familiar surroundings or return home earlier from a hospital stay. It is very important to us to encourage and guide healthy people of all ages to maintain their health and to support sick people in regaining their health. We incorporate the principle of promoting and maintaining the independence of our patients into our holistic support, whether in the home, in care, or in counseling.

Costs and rates

Who pays for SPITEX services?

Our services are subsidized by the canton of Bern and can therefore be used at socially acceptable rates.

The nursing hours are covered by health insurance as part of basic insurance or are charged to accident or disability insurance.
Domestic services are not covered by compulsory health insurance, but may be covered by supplementary insurance.
You also have the option of receiving a contribution towards the costs through supplementary benefits from the AHV/IV, provided that the legal requirements for this are met. Seek advice from the relevant office (AHV branch office, Pro Senectute).
