The CHVR's Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy offers humane and professional therapeutic expertise to people suffering from mental health issues, helping them to find the best possible relief.

The CCPPs provide the following services:
- Outpatient consultations in psychiatry and psychotherapy
- Psychiatric emergencies, including in emergency health services
- Therapeutic day clinics
- Interventions in the community by mobile teams
- Consultation and liaison psychiatry for all somatic establishments of the CHVR and for the Chablais Hospital
- Supervision of mental health skills in primary care and somatic medicine
- Coordination of the Valais Mutual Aid Network (REVs): health promotion and prevention
Therapeutic treatments can be provided on site, at home, in all Valais Hospital establishments, with partners in the social and healthcare network, on an emergency or planned basis. Treatments are provided individually, in family groups, in groups, or in workshops, according to the main models recognized in psychiatry and psychotherapy (cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, systemic).
The CCPPs bring together the expertise of multidisciplinary teams composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and medical technicians specializing in the areas of perinatal care, children and adolescents, adults, and the elderly. They work in the comprehensive treatment of mental suffering and disorders, psycho-oncology, palliative care, difficult bereavement situations, domestic abuse, trauma, eating disorders, mental disability, prison medicine, and psychiatric expertise.
