While planting new perennials is one of the favorite gardening tasks for many, weeding or the occasional pest and disease control is rarely preferred. Even small but necessary garden maintenance tasks, such as collecting wilted flowers or removing voracious snails that prey on young lettuce plants, are regular garden maintenance tasks.

Whether it's the classic "English lawn", play lawn or rolled turf - regular maintenance is essential to be able to enjoy lush green, dense lawns for years to come.

Many vegetables and fruits harvested in the fall can be stored well and can enrich the menu in winter.
