Founded in 1846 by Konrad Frehner, today's Frehner & Frick carpentry business can look back on around 150 years of history. Hans Frehner, who ran the business himself in its fourth generation, leased the company in 2009 to Sämi Frick, who himself had once completed an apprenticeship at Frehner carpentry. After his apprenticeship, Frick attended the woodworking school in Biel and trained as a federally certified foreman carpenter. Before leasing the Frehner carpentry business, he worked abroad for several years and was happy to return to the familiar atmosphere of his village.

Sämi Frick now runs the company under the name "Zimmerei Frehner & Frick GmbH" on his own, working as the boss and also helping out in the business. The company, which has eight employees, including two apprentices, continues to offer all kinds of carpentry work and specializes in agricultural buildings, stylish renovations, and traditional carpentry.
