Scherrer + Co Storenbau AG

For generations, the Scherrer family has been active in the blind construction sector.
Karl Scherrer was employed as a fitter by large blind construction companies during his working life. His son Eduard Scherrer followed in his footsteps, but took on installation jobs himself.
In the mid-1970s, Eduard Scherrer founded the company Scherrer Storenbau. His main activities were repair services and individual orders. He usually employed one or two fitters.
In the 1980s, his son Thomas Scherrer joined the company. The sole proprietorship was converted into a general partnership.
In 1989, Eduard Scherrer retired and continued to work in the company on a reduced basis. Over time, Scherrer+Co. became more and more of a family business.
In 1990, Mrs. Kathrin Scherrer (wife of Thomas Scherrer) joined the company and took over the administrative work.
In 1992, Thomas' brother Bruno Scherrer joined the company.
In 1996, the general partnership became a public limited company.
For reasons of space, the company moved its headquarters from Brauereistrasse to the Trümpler Areal in 1998.
Today, the company employs between 8-10 people, depending on the order situation.
The ratio of new builds/renovations and private customers is balanced.
In spring 2010, the company moved its headquarters from the Trümpler Areal to the "Loren" industrial estate in the buildings at Uster West 10 and 26.
