The first step in pure-tone audiometry is to determine the volume at which you can just about hear certain pitches. This procedure is also used as a hearing screening to make a relatively quick and reliable statement about your individual hearing ability. Hearing training

The name "hearing aid" is very well chosen, as hearing aids actually improve hearing. Hearing aids therefore provide the basic prerequisite for the brain to be able to understand better again.
