Final inspection

Safety inspection carried out by the electrical installer or subcontracted to an independent inspection body before the installation is handed over to the owner.

Periodic inspection

Every 20 years: Residential buildings 

Every 10 years: Administrative premises, industrial workshops
Every 5 years: Large craft and industrial buildings, restaurants, schools
Every year: Building sites, markets, fairs

Reception inspection

Concerns new installations outside residential premises. It is carried out within 6 months of handover of the system to the owner. It is carried out by an inspection body independent of the installer who carried out the work

Control when buying/selling a property

When buying a property, the buyer must carry out an electrical inspection of its installations. As a result, the notary sets the terms and conditions in the sales contract. Although strongly recommended, this is not compulsory if the property's last electrical inspection was less than 5 years ago.
