Our team consists of 3-6 employees, depending on the season.
The managing director of the Schalbetter Garden Center is Christian Schalbetter, a qualified gardener from Grengiols.

Garden design and care
 
The design, creation and transformation of environments is a major branch of our business.
Our services: Planting, irrigation, new plants, alterations, maintenance, lawn care, grave care, excavation work. Here are some realized projects in pictures.

Fruit trees
 
Every garden lover wants to harvest their own fruit and berries and enjoy the fruit they have picked themselves.
During the fruit season from March to the end of April and from October, the garden center has a large assortment of fruit trees. There are around 35 different types of fruit available, which are available as bushes, half trunks or standard trunks. The trees are mostly bare root, but can also be purchased in pots during the summer months.
 
Ornamental trees and shrubs
 
Varying foliage colors, enchanting flower colors, bright fruit decorations, changing autumn colors, impressive growth forms, all these are reasons why deciduous shrubs play an important role in our gardens.
The Schalbetter garden center has a large assortment of trees and shrubs, which are available in different sizes, the plants are of course also delivered and planted professionally.
 
Coniferous trees
 
Conifers are extremely versatile.
Whether as solitary trees, hedges or underplanting, whether in rock gardens in troughs or on graves, conifers cut a fine figure everywhere, most ideally in combination with deciduous shrubs and perennials. These hardy plants are particularly ideal in the harsh climate of the Upper Valais. Numerous shapes and colors of this plant species are available in garden centers.
 
Flowering perennials
 
Where you want to achieve special effects with delicate or bright colors, or where entire areas need to be covered, flowering perennials and cushion plants have a great effect.
Ornamental grasses, ferns, culinary herbs, wild perennials or ground cover perennials - at the Schalbetter Garden Center you can choose from around 90 varieties throughout the season.
 
Roses
 
Roses love open, free, sunny and semi-shady locations. Extremely hot embankments are not a good location for most rose varieties. Waterlogging damages the roses.
When replacing roses in the same location, the soil should be generously replaced with new garden soil to a depth of 40-50 cm. Pruning roses is also more time-consuming than with other plants, but the rose rewards us for the great effort with a beautiful, seemingly never-ending display of flowers. Roses are available bare-rooted in spring and in pots from May. Container roses can be planted all year round, even when in bloom.
 
Summer flower
 
In spring, we also supply summer flowers such as geraniums, begonias, surfinias, etc.
 
Extras
 
We also have a large selection of pots and planters, various fertilizers and plant protection products, as well as seeds and granules.
 
Playhouses
 
Our range also includes children's playhouses that can be set up in public areas or privately at home. We have such playhouses on display in our exhibition in the Visp garden center, you can see for yourself.
 
Playhouse with terrace, dream house and pirate ship are certified and can be set up in public playgrounds.
 
Our products are designed so that children cannot pinch their fingers.
The boards are edged on all 4 edges, so the wood is sapwood-free. The windows are made of shatterproof Plexiglas.
 
The playhouses are supplied painted or unpainted. They are supplied in complete side elements and roof elements.
The assembly can be completed by two people in 1-3 hours, depending on the type.
