My grandfather founded the Zimmermann Vitznau painting business in 1951, and a lot has changed since then. The brushes and paintbrushes made of natural hair were gradually supplemented by various paint rollers. The masking materials have also evolved continuously. While my grandfather used old newspapers and used cloths, today I use modern adhesive tapes, foils or fleeces that can be used several times. I still use the oil paints of the past for outdoor areas. Water-based products are gradually replacing synthetic resin paints and solvents. My grandfather still drove to customers with a moped and a ladder wagon. The moped has disappeared - but the trolley has remained. The ladder wagon always serves me well on the Rigi. Driven up the mountain by the Rigi cable car, it requires very little muscle power to transport it to the customer.
