Münchwilen has a population of around 5,800 and is located between Winterthur and St. Gallen in the southern part of Thurgau. The municipal area covers 776 hectares.

Münchwilen is exceptionally well connected thanks to its direct motorway access. We also have trains running every half hour, and in some cases every quarter of an hour, to the centers of the two regional hubs of Wil and Frauenfeld.

Münchwilen is a family-friendly community. You can expect livable residential areas, an active community life, and educational opportunities with local elementary and secondary schools. Middle schools and vocational schools are located in the immediate vicinity.

The local recreation area, with its well-maintained network of walking and hiking trails leading to the heart of our village, is located directly on the historic pilgrimage route from southern Germany to Santiago de Compostela. The St. Margarethen Chapel is an outstanding historical witness to this era. The Alfred Sutter Park is centrally located in the middle of Münchwilen and, with its more than 16,000 square meters, is significant in the region.

Jobs, particularly in the mechanical engineering, textile, and chemical industries, electrical engineering, and trade, ensure a broad economic structure for our community.
