Josef Amstutz AG was founded on September 1, 1970, by Mr. Josef Amstutz as a sole proprietorship in the field of barrel cleaning and trading. Between 1982 and 1983, the production halls and offices were built at the company's current headquarters. Over the years, the company has grown steadily and has further specialized in plastic containers and IBCs, both in the recycling of used containers and in the sale of new containers. As Switzerland's leading company in the field of "container cleaning & trade," the company, which was converted into a stock corporation in 2001, is now successfully managed in its second generation by Roger Amstutz.
