The history of Rösli Optik

Rösli Optik looks back on an eventful and successful history. In 1952, the company was founded by Heinrich Rösli not far from its current location on Bahnhofstrasse. The founder and certified master optician always placed great importance on the eye health of his customers. This led to a close collaboration with local ophthalmologists, which continues to be of great importance today.

Fifteen years after Rösli Optik was founded, Mr. Rösli Senior's son joined the company. Also a certified master optician, Hanspeter Rösli brought new ideas to the family business. Just two years later, the company moved to its current location at Bahnhofstrasse 106.

As a result of its great success, Rösli Optik was given a new look by Dierk Maus. Mr. Maus, a master optician, devoted himself intensively to contact lenses in his early years and thus helped the company gain renown in this then still young discipline. Rösli Optik quickly became synonymous with contact lenses and good vision throughout the Zurich Oberland.

In the 1980s, the company was taken over by Hanspeter Rösli, who successfully managed it until 2007. Since 2007, Rösli Optik has been part of a group of companies that includes several independent opticians throughout Switzerland. This ensured that the Rösli Optik brand would remain in the Zurich Oberland.

The specialist store is currently managed by master optician Andrea Danner and her team. In line with the motto: "Buying glasses is fun with us," the new team goes about its work every day with a great deal of drive and enthusiasm to offer customers an exciting eyewear experience.
