Wasserwerk Mittelrheintal

The provision of drinking water in our region is the responsibility of the Mittelrheintal waterworks (Au-Balgach-Berneck-Rebstein-Widnau). This supplies the various municipalities with drinking water via an extensive network of transport pipes and reservoirs. The water is extracted from groundwater wells in the Rhine foreland in the municipalities of Au and Widnau. Existing sources in the municipalities are integrated into the supply system wherever possible.
