The United Winterthur Dentists (VWZ) is a private association of dentists practicing in the city of Winterthur and the districts of Winterthur/Andelfingen. The VWZ is the only organization in the region that offers a 24-hour emergency service 365 days a year. We are also committed to providing school dental care in Winterthur and the surrounding communities, and we work together with local authorities to serve the population.

The various members of the VWZ offer the entire spectrum of modern dentistry at a high level and are well connected with each other to guarantee you optimal care. Consistency is important to us: your VWZ dentist will care for you over many years or decades. They can assess your individual risk of dental disease and therefore offer you the optimal and thus most cost-effective care in the long term.

All VWZ dentists are also members of the Swiss Dental Association (SSO), which means they have completed at least 50 hours of practice-relevant continuing education per year and are committed to complying with the SSO's professional rules and ethical principles.

This clearly sets VWZ apart from the dental centers that have been booming recently. Their dentists are not members of the SSO and are therefore not automatically subject to continuing education requirements, professional rules, or ethical principles. Many come from abroad, are poorly trained, or use their employment as a stepping stone. Constant changes of practitioners are the order of the day in dental centers. So-called 90-day workers are even allowed to practice in Switzerland on their own account for three months per year without a practice license. If problems arise, the place of jurisdiction is the dentist's place of residence, i.e., abroad!
