Pro Senectute Vaud

Pro Senectute Vaud is a private charitable organization. Its goal is to contribute to the material, physical, and moral well-being of elderly people in Vaud, as well as to preserve or strengthen their ability to live independently and be integrated into the life of the community.

Serving seniors for 100 years!

Pro Senectute Switzerland was founded in 1917 and its Vaud branch, Pro Senectute Vaud, in 1919, at a time when the elderly were living in extreme poverty. Since then, the situation of older people in Switzerland has of course changed, and the support provided by Pro Senectute continues to adapt to new challenges and needs. Fundamentally, however, the mission remains the same: to contribute to the material, physical, and moral well-being of people of retirement age.

The association is present in all regions of the canton. It employs some 90 staff, supported by more than 500 volunteers who work with older people.
