As a specialist organization, Blue Cross provides free and discreet help with alcohol problems and related addictive substances such as cannabis or cocaine. With over 140 years of experience, we advise and treat those affected, their relatives, and their family environment. Effectively, unbureaucratically, anonymously, with a great deal of humanity and professionalism.

We understand addiction as a complex interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors. We treat those suffering from addiction with respect and provide counseling, therapy, and integration. We also offer self-help groups for those affected.

The Blue Cross is also very active in prevention work, which aims to show young people that it is possible to have fun with like-minded people without resorting to addictive substances. The street dance programs "roundabout" ( for girls and young women) and "boyzaround" ( for boys and young men) offer just such a meaningful, media-free leisure activity and, moreover, the opportunity to build friendships and exchange views on current and personal topics. We also carry out alcohol and tobacco test purchases on behalf of the municipalities.

The Blue Cross also operates three second-hand shops in the canton of Zurich: Bülach, Dübendorf, and Winterthur.
