Ferweh-Wege - this is the apt expression for how the adventure began in 1976. Back then it was the islands of Malta and Ireland, but today there are a few more adventurous and unusual destinations - as well as a wide variety of travel options - that have been added to our range.

In 1986 we were one of the first tour operators in the world to venture to Abu Dhabi, and the Middle East quickly became our second home. Our pioneering spirit was very well received locally and a very exciting, albeit not always easy, time began. Regional conflicts and armed conflicts repeatedly dampened our enthusiasm; instead of a purple horizon, we saw a gloomy sunset and a deceptive dawn. Several times we almost had to start all over again and rebuild many things. But the first impressions will remain unforgotten forever. Today, as then, we are convinced that genuine, honest encounters with people from a foreign culture are one of the most fascinating and profound experiences and at the same time the key to understanding other cultures.

 

This is precisely why we attach great importance to offering you the opportunity to meet the people of these countries on our trips. Thanks to many smaller and larger   friendly gestures, Holiday Maker Tours was also able to approve the first group trips to the most remote regions. Only two years later, driven by the spirit of discovery, Iran was added in 1988 . The unique cultural and scenic highlights cast a spell over every visitor. Thousands of years of history come to life when you stand in front of the magnificent remains of ancient Persian empires in Susa, Isfahan and Persepolis.

 

New destinations were soon added alongside the United Arab Emirates and Iran, and the breakthrough came in 1991 with the Sultanate of Oman. An extraordinary, diverse country with magnificent landscapes, ancient traditions and an impressive cultural heritage.

 

1995 Jordan was added to the program. A country between deserts and wadis, amidst crusader castles, bazaars and royal sites, it offers experiences straight out of 1001 nights and builds a "bridge" between the Orient and the Occident. Jordan is a crossroads between peoples and cultures, empires and religions. We suffered a bitter setback with Yemen, Syria and Libya, which we had to remove from the program with a heavy heart for security reasons. We are still fascinated by these countries and the memories they leave in our hearts.

In 2004 our offer was enriched with Morocco. The four   legendary royal cities - one more beautiful than the other - the picturesque Berber villages in the high Atlas Mountains and the  palm-fringed oases on the edge of the desert are the great highlights and lasting experiences of this "land of contrasts".

 

Since 2005 we have also been inviting you to travel to Central Asia, partly along the Silk Road: Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia let you glide back to glorious eras

and you stand in awe of the magnificent testimonies to the architecture of the time. For the current catalogs, we have expanded our offer in Central Asia with Kyrgyzstan.

 

With the Maldives (2012), Mauritius and the Seychelles (2014) we have made inroads into the Indian Ocean and can offer you first-class beach vacations.

 

In addition, Holiday Maker Tours has been organizing trips in all directions for 40 years. We put together selected round trips to exciting (even for us) new destinations outside "our regions" and guarantee first-class support and the best service through our personal assistance.
