The parish of St. Michael is the oldest parish in the city of Zug and was the only one until 1938. It has a central function. Church services are held regularly in the various historically valuable and significant churches and chapels. The Frauensteinmatt nursing home, the Maihof home for the severely disabled and the Meissenberg psychiatric-psychotherapeutic clinic are also located in the parish of St. Michael. There is a good neighborly relationship with the various monasteries and religious communities in the parish area.
