In classical homeopathy, the person or animal is treated as a whole. The focus is not on the symptoms of the illness, but on the individual. This requires a detailed initial consultation in which all of the patient's symptoms and characteristics are recorded. Based on this information, the appropriate homeopathic remedy is sought. These remedies can be of plant, mineral or animal origin and are administered in a highly diluted, potentized form. They do not have a direct effect on the material level, but provide an impetus for self-healing.
