Since 1964, the studentenhaus ALV cooperative has been offering extremely affordable accommodation for UZH and ETHZ students. As the owner, we rent out 65 apartments at Wehntalerstrasse 41, our only property in the heart of Zurich. Our offer has always been aimed at students who mainly come from the more distant cantons or from abroad. We are one of the few student residences to offer students furnished single rooms with their own bathroom and cooking facilities in the room itself. Our low rent, as well as the additional offer and the central location, have led to an increase in the average waiting time for a room of up to a year.

The cooperative is financially independent, self-supporting and politically and denominationally neutral. The property is managed on a part-time basis, mostly by former residents. This ensures that the proximity to the students is maintained and that the founding idea is carried forward.

The building is currently undergoing a complete renovation and will probably be ready for occupancy again from the beginning of 2024. More detailed information can be found on our homepage.
