Domaine Jean-René Germanier SA

Route Cantonale 291, 1963 Vétroz

WELCOME TO THE DOMAINE Gilles Besse and Jean-René Germanier are pleased to welcome you to the Germanier page and invite you to explore their Domaine. Their joint passion for wine and its « terroir » finds full expression in the exceptional crus that have shaped the Domaine’s outstanding reputation. THE CELLAR Visit and Tasting THE DOMAINE AND ITS WINE CELLAR – PLACES STEEPED IN HISTORY Our Domaine is located in Balavaud, a hamlet of the comune of Vétroz situated at the heart of the Valais and the Rhone Valley, famous for its warm, dry microclimate in the summer months. Our imposing wine cellar and other facilities for winemaking, aging and bottling greet visitors at the entrance to the village and are open for tour by appointment. A site of particular interest and well worth a detour is the ancient bicentennial vaulted cellar where our earliest vintages were pressed in 1896. Today this splendid hall steeped in history and emotion is entirely dedicated to the fascination of the world of wine. The cellar is equipped to accommodate groups of up to seventy and offers ideal conditions for wine-tasting in authentic traditional surroundings. Under normal weather conditions it maintains normal business hours in order to allow wine-loving visitors to stop and discover our wines with a leisurely tasting in a uniquely appropriate setting. Evening tastings are also possible on Fridays and Saturdays, and, by appointment, any day of the week. OPENING TIMES FRIDAY : 16h à 23h SATURDAY : 10h30 à 21h Open 7/7 upon request ***** VINEYARDS Close to nature STATE-OF-THE-ART VITICULTURE, SIDE-BY-SIDE WITH NATURE Out of love for the art of winemaking quality is our highest priority. The commitment to quality is also one to wines of pronounced character, which means a voluntary limitation of yield per vine. We are constantly in search of innovative methods, of the true character of our terroirs, of forgotten varieties awaiting rediscovery. Each of our vineyard parcels receives regular, individual care, above all in the fall in order to fix the date of harvest, the pivotal moment for the future character of our wines. We also believe that the care of our vineyards must seek the highest quality grapes while also observing the greatest respect for the environment. For this reason we were among the pioneers in the introduction of integrated production fifteen years ago. This method guarantees the sustainable use of chemical intervention. Today we remain in the vanguard of viticultural practice in harmony with the environment such as planting grass between the rows of vines. For the last five years, we have likewise maintained three estates that are cultivated according to the norms of the label Bio Suisse.

Hofladen s' Chrättli - Ihr Dorfladen in der Region Brugg Spezialitäten vom Bauernhof

Hauptstrasse 12, 5235 Rüfenach AG

S'Chrättli Farm Specialties Rütiberger Wine and Homemade Delicacies Our vines flourish on the sunny southern slopes of the Geissberg, the Rütiberg, which gives our wine its name. From spring to autumn, the grapes ripen in this sheltered location, where a lot of care and hard work go into producing high-quality fruit. After the harvest, Jürg Wetzel in Ennetbaden carefully vinifies the grapes into premium, high-quality wines. The Blauburgunder wines from Rütiberg have gained a great reputation far and wide, and the selection from the oak barrel is a real gem in our range. Visit us in Rüfenach near Brugg, enjoy a glass of our wine, and discover the variety we have to offer. Summer Wine: Rütiberger Blanc de Noir Our rich Blanc de Noir is the perfect summer wine. With its Blauburgunder notes and complex aromas, it is ideal as an aperitif or paired with light summer dishes. A true delight for wine lovers during the warm months. Wood-Fired Bread and Zopf In our traditional bakery with a large wood-fired oven, we bake over 15 different types of bread. The flour comes from our own grain, which is milled by the Mühlebach mill in Würenlingen. Our homemade breads include rustic spelt bread, our special Chrättlibrot, golden Zopf, as well as pretzel, wholegrain, and nut rolls. We also offer custom-made party breads to suit your needs. For those with a sweet tooth, we have delicious cornets, cream slices, or a tempting Black Forest cake—perfect for any occasion. Fresh Vegetables from the Farm In our farm store in Rüfenach, you will find fresh vegetables all year round, supplemented by regional products. Our vegetable season starts in spring with fresh lettuce from the greenhouse. We then offer a wide range of homegrown vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, and even melons. In the summer, we also harvest peas, beans, and sugar snap peas. Starting in July, juicy tomatoes and melons add to our selection, and in autumn, pumpkins mark the beginning of the famous lamb's lettuce harvest, which carries us through to spring. Market Offerings in Turgi In addition to our farm store, you can find us every Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Turgi weekly market. Stop by and discover our homemade specialties such as fresh vegetables, wine, wood-fired bread, Zopf, fruits, and delicious jams—all homemade and directly from our farm!
