NIEMAND ART & SUPPORT

Ursula Niemand (born January 1, 1942) is a Swiss citizen of German-Italian descent. She is particularly well known as a portrait painter. In the visual arts, she is active in the fields of painting, drawing, collage, etching, industrial design, illustration, and mail art.

Ursula Niemand's magnum opus is the "JUGENDSTIL" series of large-format paintings featuring portraits of young people.
The artist works primarily on the basis of photographs and direct contact with the subjects of her portraits. In a multi-layered process, she transforms the photographic templates into the substance of her paintings. Ursula Niemand calls the templates "photo notes" and her paintings "artistic interpretations."
