The Schwingerverband Basel-Stadt (SVBS) was founded in 1907 and has its roots in gymnastic associations. It is dedicated to promoting Schwingen, the Swiss national sport, in the Basel region. The association views wrestling as a school of life that teaches values such as fairness, camaraderie, and perseverance. Training sessions take place in the Schwingkeller on Schwarzwaldallee, where young wrestlers and active members practice together.

Training takes place on Mondays (except school holidays). Young wrestlers train from 18:00 to 19:30, active members from 19:20 to approx. 20:45.
