Katholische Spitex Winterthur

Catholic Spitex is an association. Its purpose is to provide outpatient nursing care to the population of Winterthur, regardless of religion. The association does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not seek to make a profit.

Our goals

• To enable patients to remain in familiar surroundings for as long as this is reasonable for all involved.
   
• Maintain quality of life and independence
   
• Advising relatives and caregivers
   
• Relief and support for relatives and caregivers
   
• Avoiding or shortening stays in inpatient facilities.

 

We are a member of the Spitex Association of the Canton of Zurich and the umbrella organization Spitex Association Switzerland.

We have a service agreement with the city of Winterthur.

 

Care services

Outpatient nursing care for people of all ages and regardless of religious affiliation, in the event of illness, accident, disability, declining strength and mobility, situations of overload for relatives, and approaching death.

Health and nursing care

Our services are an alternative or supplement to municipal Spitex services, hospitals, nursing homes, and other organizations.

• Assessment
  Assessment of care needs, cooperation with doctors, hospitals, and other services.
   
• Basic care
  Personal hygiene, showering, bathing, assistance with getting up and dressing.
   
• Treatment care
  Administering injections, changing dressings, measuring pulse, blood pressure, and blood sugar, preparing and administering medication.
   
• Personal care
  Basic and treatment care by a familiar caregiver
   
• Care visits
  Conversations and visits after care has been completed, for example in a nursing home or hospital
   
• Support
  Support in crisis situations and during the dying process in accordance with palliative care principles.
