MORE THAN 50 YEARS IN BUSINESS
Like all success stories, the birth of Bertoni Automobili SA has its roots in a myth, specifically, a bucket of warm water. It was in fact on a cold November day in 1964 that Bixio Bertoni and his colleague Guerino Soldati opened their first workshop in an unheated tent set up at what is now the Eni service station in Ascona. The legendary bucket served to alleviate the bite of the cold, allowing their skilled hands to work on engines, which had always been Bixio's great passion. The determination and insight demonstrated in those moments never wavered, and the story of their success can be summarized in a few significant milestones. The current site, purchased and expanded in 1970, became the historic headquarters of the Renault dealership, to which the Giubiasco headquarters was added. In 1987, the partners separated, and since then, the structure has been as we know it today, Bertoni Automobili SA. The arrival of the Nissan dealership for the Sopraceneri region in 2001-2002 consolidated the company's steady progress. The recipe for this success is simple: humility, perseverance, and respect for employees, with a clear goal in mind: to offer our customers high-quality service without compromise.

The death of the founder in 2013 was a moment of great sadness and a tough test for the company, which was shaken to its core. It was a great challenge for his successors, but in hindsight, it was definitely a winning one. Guido Rognoni, appointed director, was able to skillfully combine the historical legacy with the need for renewal, magnificently assisted by a close-knit group of employees. The board of directors, which in addition to the heir Giuseppe Bertoni, can count on the vast experience of Igor Zucconi, the group's strategic mind, and the profound knowledge of the automotive world of Franco Fontana, architect of the garage's renovation, looks back with great satisfaction on what has been achieved over the last five years and looks to the future with immense confidence. Winning the Nissan Global Award for the best Swiss dealership in 2016 confirms the excellent quality of our work, and the arrival of the prestigious Jeep brand in 2018 is a clear sign of our desire and determination to continue the work we have undertaken, consistent and faithful to the spirit of the legendary bucket.
