MORE THAN 50 YEARS OF ACTIVITY
Like all success stories, the birth of Bertoni Automobili SA has its roots in a myth, specifically, a bucket of lukewarm water.  It was in fact on a cold November in 1964, that Bixio Bertoni, with his colleague Guerino Soldati, opened their first workshop in an unheated tent set up at the current Eni service station in Ascona. The legendary bucket served to soothe the cold bites, allowing skilled hands to work on engines, always Bixio's great passion. The determination and insight shown in those moments has never failed, and the success story can be summed up in a few significant milestones. The current site, purchased and expanded in 1970, became the historic home of the Renault dealership, to which the Giubiasco location would be added. In 1987 the partners parted ways, and since then the facility has been as we know it today, Bertoni Automobili SA. The arrival of the Nissan dealership for Sopraceneri, in 2001-2002, consolidates the firm's firm progression. The recipe for this success is simple: humility, perseverance and respect for the employees, with a clear goal in mind; to offer our customers great quality service, without compromise.

The founder's passing in 2013 was a time of great sadness and a severe test for the company, shaken to its roots. A great challenge for the successors, in retrospect, definitely successful. Guido Rognoni, who was appointed director, skillfully combined the historical legacy and the need for renewal, magnificently assisted by the close-knit group of staff. The board of directors, which, in addition to heir Giuseppe Bertoni, can count on the great experience of Igor Zucconi, strategic mind of the group, and on the deep knowledge of the automotive world of Franco Fontana, architect of the garage renovation, looks back with great satisfaction on what has been done over the past five years and with immense confidence on the future. Winning the Nissan Global Award, for the best Swiss dealership in 2016, confirms the excellent quality of our work, and the arrival of the prestigious Jeep brand in 2018 are clear signs indicating our willingness and determination to continue the work undertaken, consistent with and faithful to the spirit of the mythical bucket.
