The Smash Burger is taking Switzerland by storm.

The history of the Smash Burger began almost a hundred years ago in the USA in the 1930s.

At that time, chefs discovered while frying burgers on cast-iron pans that pressing the meat flat on a hot surface resulted in a crispy crust and caramelized edges, which greatly improved the taste and texture of the burger.

A few years ago, this special method of preparation—smashing—was rediscovered and is now conquering Europe and Switzerland.
