Gemeindeverwaltung Baltschieder

The municipality of Baltschieder is located on the right bank of the Rhone in the heart of the Upper Valais. It is a neighboring municipality of Visp. Baltschieder is the Valais municipality that, statistically speaking, has seen the greatest growth in its resident population in recent years. The population has more than doubled in the last twenty years, from 500 inhabitants in 1981 to 1,000 in 1997. Today, the village has 1,300 inhabitants. This increase in population has led to a boom in construction, especially in the valley to the west. The "inner village" lies at the exit of the Baltschieder Valley with the stream of the same name, which brought so much misfortune to the village in 2000. Welcome
