Gampel-Bratsch is a residential community with an excellent infrastructure. The range of businesses and service providers is correspondingly diverse and comprehensive. The central location in terms of transport links also contributes to the attractiveness of the residential community of Gampel-Bratsch - the Lötschberg is in the immediate vicinity; the journey times to the centers of Visp, Brig or Sierre are short and even the cantonal capital of Sion can be reached in half an hour. Public transport connections by bus and train are optimal.

The area of the municipality of Gampel-Bratsch stretches from the Rhone Valley to Einig Alichji/Nivengrad (2,769 m above sea level). The enormous difference in altitude brings together all the contrasts of climate and vegetation in a very small area. The dry valley mountain has unique steppe vegetation. The Gampel-Bratsch area consists of the villages of Gampel (634 m.a.s.l.), Niedergampel (640 m.a.s.l.), Bratsch (1,090 m.a.s.l.), Engersch (1,590 m.a.s.l.) and Jeizinen (1,536 m.a.s.l.).
