Ludwig Amann joined the Schober shoe factory as a foreman.

Ludwig and Dora Amann-Leu take over the Schober shoe factory on October 1, 1968.

 

1969

Ludwig Amann: Collaboration with the Basel-Stadt and Basel-LandschaftAssociation of Master Shoemakers Ludwig Amann first worked as a board member, then as president of the Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft Association of Master Shoemakers.

 

1971

Relocation of the sewing workshop to Grenzacherstrasse 97
On June 1, 1971, the upper construction (sewing) department was relocated from the Rosentalstrasse workshop to Grenzacherstrasse 97 in Basel.

 

1973

Special exhibition "Rare and Ancient Crafts"
First participation in the special exhibition "Rare and Ancient Crafts" at the Basel Autumn Fair (October 27 - November 5, 1973).

 

1985 -1988Beat Amann: Shoemaker's apprenticeship
with Heinz Thommen, Foot Orthopedics, Gelterkinden. The first year of apprenticeship was completed in his parents' business.

 

1993Beat Amann: Master shoemaker's diploma
Obtained his master shoemaker's diploma on May 12, 1993. Beat Amann worked as a journeyman for Heinz Thommen, Gelterkinden, from 1987 to 1993.

 

1993 -1995Beat Amann: Work in Japan
Beat Amann responded to a job advertisement and applied to a comfort shoe store in Tokyo, where he worked as a master shoemaker for a good two years. There, he trained shoemakers in the field of orthopedic shoe technology through seminars.

 

1996 -1998Beat Amann joins his parents' business as a master shoemaker on January 1, 1996.

 

1999

AMANN.ch AG Orthopedic shoe technology
Generational change on January 1, 1999.
Transfer of management from Ludwig Amann to Beat Amann. Conversion of the sole proprietorship L. Amann Fussorthopädie into AMANN.ch AG.

 

Franz Amann
joins the company as commercial director on July 1, 1999.

 

 

Expansion and renovation of the business premises at
Takeover of the vacant retail space of the neighboring flower shop. A comprehensive workshop and shop renovation takes place in July/August 1999.

 

 

Reintegration of the sewing workshop at Rosentalstrasse 20
After 28 years at Grenzacherstrasse 97, the sewing workshop is reintegrated into the new, enlarged workshop on August 30, 1999.

The official opening of AMANN.ch AG takes place on October 9, 1999.

2000Beat Amann: Master Orthopedic Shoemaker Diploma
Master Orthopedic Shoemaker Diploma obtained on September 21, 2000.

Franz Amann: Member of the
association Franz Amann is a member of the board of the Fuss & Schuh association, Northwest Switzerland section.

 

2001

Beat and Franz Amann: MBT trainer training
After a year of testing MBT, both completed one of the first MBT trainer training courses with MBT inventor Karl Müller.

 

2002

Beat and Franz Amann: MBT instructor training
After a year of selling MBTs, both passed one of the first MBT instructor training courses.

 

2002

AMANN.ch AG becomes a training company for MBT service centers
MBT inventor Karl Müller commissions our company to train MBT service centers throughout Switzerland.

 

2003

AMANN.ch AG is responsible for worldwide MBT service center training
Due to the international sales success of MBT, specialists from all over the world are trained in Basel to become country managers for MBT service centers.

 

2004

Beat and Franz Amann: Vabene training
Both complete several days of training in the provision of afferent stimulation insoles for posture correction.

 

2005

Opening of the MBT Shop
The world's first official MBT Shop opens on Centralbahnstrasse in Basel.

 

2010Beat Amann takes over AMANN.ch AG alone
Franz Amann takes over the MBT Shop Basel.
