Ludwig Amann works first as a board member, then as president of the Master Shoemakers' Association of Basel

1971

Separation of the sewing shop to Grenzacherstrasse 97
On June 1, 1971, the shank construction division (sewing shop) is spun off from the Rosentalstrasse workshop and relocated to Grenzacherstrasse 97 in Basel.

 

1973 - today

Special show "Rare and Old Crafts"
First participation in the special show "Rare and Old Crafts" at the Basel Autumn Goods Fair (October 27 - November 5, 1973)

 

1985 - 1988Beat Amann: Shoemaker apprenticeship
at Heinz Thommen, foot orthopaedics, Gelterkinden. The first year of his apprenticeship was completed in his parents' business

1993Beat Amann: Master shoemaker diploma
Obtained his master shoemaker diploma on May 12, 1993. Beat Amann worked from 1987 - 1993 as a journeyman at Heinz Thommen, Gelterkinden

 

1993 - 1995Beat Amann: Work in Japan
After seeing a job advertisement, Beat Amann applies for a job in a comfort shoe store in Tokyo and works there as a master shoemaker for a good 2 years. He trained the shoemakers there in the field of orthopaedic shoe technology with seminars.

 

1996 - 1998Bat Amann
joins the family business as a master shoemaker on January 1, 1996

 

1999

AMANN.ch AG  Orthopädie-Schuhtechnik
Generational change on January 1, 1999.
Transfer of management from Ludwig Amann to Beat Amann. Conversion of the sole proprietorship L. Amann Fussorthopädie into AMANN.ch AG.

 

Franz Amann
joins the company as Commercial Director on July 1, 1999.

 

 

Expansion and conversion of the business premises
Taking over the vacated store space of the neighboring flower store. A comprehensive workshop and store renovation takes place in July/August 1999.

Reintegration of the sewing shop at Rosentalstrasse 20
After 28 years of being located at Grenzacherstrasse 97, the sewing shop can be reintegrated into the new, enlarged workshop on August 30, 1999.

 

 

Open house day  
On October 9, 1999, the official opening of AMANN.ch AG takes place.
Attractions: Electronic footprint via foot scan, competition, free lasagne.

 

2000Beat Amann: Master orthopaedic shoemaker diploma
Obtained the master orthopaedic shoemaker diploma on September 21, 2000.

 

2000 - today

Franz Amann: Involvement in the association
Franz Amann works as a board member of the Foot & Shoe Association, Northwestern Switzerland section.

 

2001

Beat and Franz Amann: MBT trainer training
After a year of MBT testing, both completed one of the first MBT trainer courses with MBT inventor Karl Müller.

 

2002

Beat and Franz Amann: MBT instructor training
After a year of MBT sales, both passed one of the first MBT instructor training courses.

 

2002

AMANN.ch AG becomes a training company for MBT Service Centers
The MBT inventor Karl Müller commissions our company to train MBT Service Centers throughout Switzerland.

 

2003

AMANN.ch AG is responsible for the worldwide MBT Service Center training
Due to the international sales success of MBT, specialists from all over the world are trained in Basel to become country managers of MBT Service Centers.

 

2004

Beat and Franz Amann: Vabene training
Both complete a multi-day training course for the supply of afferent stimulating soles for posture correction.

 

2005

Opening of MBT Shop
The world's first official MBT Shop opens on Centralbahnstrasse in Basel.

 

2010Beat Amann takes over AMANN.ch AG alone
Franz Amann takes over the MBT Shop Basel.
