On May 1, 1949, in the heart of the village of Bassecourt, Charles Kottelat welcomed his first customers to his newly opened butcher shop. Two years later, he married Vérène, who came to lend him a hand.
After 40 years of hard work, the couple decided to take a well-deserved retirement. They handed over the reins to their son Marcel and his wife Chantal in 1989. They developed new products, including pâtés en croûte, Jura terrines, dry horse sausages, horse steak with Tête de Moine cheese, dry garlic sausages, vol-au-vent sauce, and more.
In 2023, the third generation took over with grandson Nicolas, who brought a young and dynamic spirit to the business. He is committed to continuing this wonderful story by offering high-quality meat from his own slaughterhouse.
In 2024, the butcher's shop celebrated 75 years of tradition, passion, and expertise.
