Montessori Kindergarten 4-6
The Montessori Kindergarten Lorraine is based on the basic principles of Montessori education and follows the curriculum of the Canton of Bern. The children attend the compulsory 2-year kindergarten until they start school.
Children who enjoy learning in a harmonious and consistent environment set the course for their success at school.Montessori daycare center 3-4
The Montessori daycare center, together with the kindergarten children, forms a mixed-age group of children typical for Montessori, where individual learning and free play take place.
<
Montessori Nido 1-3
The Montessori Nido is designed for toddlers. Nido means "nest" in Italian and captures the idea of safety and warmth. The purpose of Nido in Montessori children's homes is to create a homely, cozy and calm environment for our youngest children
.
A Nido is designed to allow children to move freely and explore the environment while being accompanied by caregivers who are familiar with the Montessori method and its principles.
Materials and equipment are provided to address and satisfy the child's needs.
An important part of Nido is that our youngest children can develop new skills for independence and master the environment around them. The Nido is also a place where children begin to learn life skills.

Why Montessori?
"Children want to learn" - we support them in this and create optimal conditions.
Children don't want to learn just anything, but something very specific at a certain time. At the Montessori Kinderhaus the teacher focuses on the children's so-called "sensitive phases". These are times when the child develops a special interest in a particular subject. During this phase, the child can learn with great intensity and playful ease. One of the main aims of Montessori education is to make the most of these learning times.
The mixed-age groups of 1-3 and 3-6 year olds form social communities.
They learn with and from each other at the same time. The younger children take their cue from the older children. They observe and learn from their role models. Your child is taught how to ask for help and give help themselves. "Together we are strong". The guiding principle; "Help me to do it myself" is the basis of Montessori education.
The prepared environment in the children's house offers the child a free choice of the tools it needs for healthy development appropriate to its age. The orderly variety of Montessori materials at eye level corresponds to the children's natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge.
This environment has a clear and recognizable order and provides helpful orientation. The children do not have to constantly ask for help, they can be active independently and thus have the opportunity to detach themselves from adults. The Montessori method gives the children sufficient freedom for individual development. They find various targeted activities with a great learning stimulus, such as the Montessori development material, where even difficult learning content is taught in a tangible way "from grasping to understanding". In the Montessori learning environment for 4-6 year olds, your child will experience the school learning process without the usual experiences of failure and competition. They also experience appreciation and esteem as well as mutual consideration and respect right from the start.
With free work, the children can largely decide for themselves what they want to work on and with whom. However, this does not mean that they can do whatever they want. The Montessori teacher gives each individual child an introduction to the material. As soon as they can work with it independently, they withdraw. They observe the group of children from a close distance and only intervene if necessary.
By discovering and training their own abilities and resources, the child recognizes what they are capable of. It builds up self-confidence and becomes independent. The child is encouraged to make their own decisions. It learns to be active in a self-determined way and develops initiative and self-drive.
They discover the joy of learning.
"If you want to be able to, you have to want to
If I am only allowed to when I am supposed to,
but never can when I want to,
then I don't like it when I have to.
But if I am allowed to when I want to,
then I also like it when I am supposed to,
and then I can also when I have to."
