The special techniques/methods of manual therapy can be supplemented by massage or apparatus-based techniques. Manual therapies are used, for example, to restore correct posture in cases of vertebral blockage or pelvic obliquity, or to treat edema as decongestive therapy. These techniques are used for most physiological or functional complaints.

Many therapeutic goals can be achieved simultaneously on the underwater treadmill. Your dog's entire body is exercised, as the water provides resistance when running. The muscles are worked harder, while the joints are relieved. This means that dogs that can only move with pain on dry land can train almost painlessly on the underwater treadmill. The steady movement underwater helps to train a physiological gait and avoid poor posture.

A massage is a manual treatment of the skin, tissue, and muscles. It mechanically loosens adhesions and scar tissue, reducing or eliminating pain. Massage also promotes blood circulation, lymph circulation, and mobilization of the various tissue layers.
