The foundation stone for the "Buurehof Winterhaltli" was laid by Ernst and Marie Ruoss-Holdener in 1952 with the purchase of the property on the southern edge of the village of Buttikon. This was followed in 1962 by the construction of a detached house and in 1969 by the construction of a new tie-stall barn with 19 cow places. Dairy farming and animal husbandry were the most important pillars of the business at that time. In 1980, Werner and Marianne Ruoss-Raimann took over the farm and continuously expanded it. In addition to the conversion of the residential building and the tie-stall barn, other branches of the business such as the orchard, the vineyard and direct marketing were added to the dairy farm.

In 2019, Michael Ruoss took over the Winterhaltli family business in the third generation and has been running it ever since with the active support of his parents Werner and Marianne. As an ÖLN farm (proof of ecological performance), various foods are also produced under the IP-Suisse label. The continuous development of the farm should be sustainable, which is a matter close to Michael's heart. He uses alternative methods and homeopathy in animal husbandry and plant cultivation.

In addition to an apprentice, the farm employs one part-time employee and can always count on the support of other family members, colleagues and acquaintances. It is precisely this cooperation that characterizes the Winterhaltli family business!

Direct sales

In our farm store you will find many different products, all of which have their origin in the production and manufacture at Buurehof Winterhaltli. Below you will get an insight into our diverse range.

The farm store is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 11.30 am and from 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm. On Saturday it is only open in the morning from 8.30 am to 11.30 am. Due to the sale of alcohol, it is not a self-service store.
