Our History

Founding our firm was then-owner Dante Godi, who was born in the locality of Vezia. His wealth of experience, accumulated during his apprenticeship with the Inaudi brothers, led to the opening, in 1941, of Godi & Gili, a company that in a short time established itself among the protagonists of the plumbing and heating and plumbing market in Lugano. Subsequent changes saw first his brother Aldo join (from 1946 to 1960) and then his son Gianni Godi (from 1967 to 1974). Precisely in '74, after the death of his father Dante, the company came under the control of Gianni Godi, a dynamic executive with a modern and forward-looking vision of the business. The evolution of the firm underwent an abrupt acceleration. A great many projects of some importance were carried out in the Lugano area, both in the public and private sectors. Houses, commercial establishments, hospitals, homes for the elderly, schools, municipal houses, kindergartens, convention centers, aqueducts, ventilation and air conditioning, sports centers, irrigation systems, fire-fighting systems, swimming pools...

In '95, following the grievous and untimely death of the owner Gianni Godi, the company went through a difficult period, also complicit in the harsh economic crisis that hit the country. It was to the credit of his daughter Simona, already active in the firm, and the management of Andrea Fassi, that the company was able to overcome the many challenges. In 1996, confirming the new internal organization, the firm took on its final name, becoming Gianni Godi Sa. Today, in more than 70 years of uninterrupted activity, the Godi firm has employed more than 250 employees, some of whom undertook apprenticeships at the firm and continued to work here until retirement. The firm's headquarters, at 11 Vignola Street in Lugano, occupies an area of approximately 1,000 square meters between offices and warehouse and is confirmed as a hotbed of innovation and technology: from plumbing systems to heating, ventilation and air conditioning, to the latest renewable energy, we take care of every aspect of design and installation, with turnkey solutions that include service, maintenance and emergency response. From design to implementation: our services for individuals, companies and public bodies

Design is the basis of every implementation. Our young and qualified technical department devotes a lot of attention to the design of installations, analyzing every situation to find the best solution technically and financially.

The design is followed in our case by the execution of the work on time and within budget. The turnkey service includes the bureaucratic and technical part, from the assessment of the requirements needed to obtain municipal and cantonal permits to the installation of boilers, heat pumps and other equipment.
