Garage Sport Lugano SA

Garage Sport was founded in 1991 by the two Akbas brothers: Giuseppe, a qualified car mechanic, and Michele, a commercial apprentice. In their small facility in Viganello, with a small workshop, a small OPEL sales area, and two apprentices, the brothers began to make their way in the automotive world.

In 1995, they opened a body shop in Piano la Stampa and in 1997 they also added roadside assistance, thus expanding the services they offered their customers. In 1998, they opened Garage Sport in Via Pico, combining sales, workshop, and body shop services in a single location. They decided to sell the body shop in Piano la Stampa and the garage located in Via alla Chiesa 1. Working at the new location alongside the Akbas brothers were three administrative staff, two mechanics, and three body shop workers. Customers appreciated them for their professionalism and honesty, but one location was not enough to meet all their needs. In 2005, they opened the Cadempino location with six employees. In 2007, they expanded their vehicle fleet, acquiring the local Suzuki dealership in addition to the local Opel dealership.

The number of customers increased and the space available to them became limited, so in 2008, the new facility in Viganello at Via Alla Chiesa 2 was built, reluctantly giving up the headquarters in Via Pico. In 2009, in addition to adding the main Daihatsu dealership, on May 1, they took over the Amicar garage in Canobbio, acquiring the main Opel dealership for the Sottoceneri region. Almost 20 years of activity in the automotive sector have allowed them to boast considerable experience and expertise. Professionalism and passion are their strengths, which complement the undisputed qualities of Opel and Suzuki cars, and since 2013, Hyundai and Citroën as well.

Garage Sport, with its thirty professional, motivated, and qualified employees, is able to offer sales, workshop, and bodywork services throughout the Sottoceneri region, thanks to its three locations in Viganello, Canobbio, and Cadempino.

Since July 1, 2019, we have been official Kia dealers at our headquarters in Lugano Viganello.

The product range, which covers almost all market segments, includes 10 different models.
