It is the first frame construction in the region, meaning that the structure is composed of concrete posts rather than solid walls. The resulting structural rhythm is visible on the façade. The terrace surrounding the building cleverly accommodates the slope of the street. Slightly elevated, it is an ideal place to watch the comings and goings of passersby.
The renovation of the building in 2007 restored some of the original features, such as the staircase that provides direct access to the main entrance at the corner of the building.
Despite its modest size, Le Farinet has a distinctly urban feel. By placing the staircase and entrance at the corner of the building, the architect wanted to emphasize its location at the intersection of two streets, as one would do for a block.
