Founded in 1949, Coloral SA is a family business active in subcontracting.
Coloral comes from Coloration de l'aluminium, the company's historic activity with over 65 years of experience in the field. The technique used to color aluminum is called Anodizing, Eloxing or Anodic Oxidation. It involves the surface transformation of aluminum into aluminum oxide. The aluminum oxide layer is porous, and by immersing the oxidized parts in a dye bath, the layer absorbs the dye by capillary action. As aluminum oxide is a ceramic, it gives treated parts greater hardness as well as improved corrosion resistance.
