Doris Teresa Lavin
Cuban singer extraordinaire Doris Teresa Lavin made her debut in Havana, selected from Lazaro Herrera's Septeto Nacional, and went on to become the founder and singer of the Son las que son sonority. In 1991-92, she opened the Popular Song Chair at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, where she studied and perfected her skills by collaborating with various groups such as Son Imagen and Sonora Caribena. Accompanying the group led by Alain Perez (former musical director Isaac Delgado), Doris held a series of concerts in Spain in 1999, and it was from this encounter that the excellent CD bearing her name was recorded in Madrid, arranged and produced by Alain Perez, Javier "Carmel" Gutierrez and Jose Rivero, renowned names in Cuban music. She toured Europe and Russia, before settling in Italy. From 2008, she continued her work with the traditional Cuban music project, traveling into the world of Cuban jazz and integrating the genre into Cuban music styles such as Afro, Bolevec Juan de la Cruz Antomarchi and two Neapolitan chanson songs with ros playing increasingly improvisational (Sonidos de Cuba). In 2009, she took part in numerous music festivals and other events. In 2010, Son's traditional songs were rearranged.
