Hergiswil is centrally located in terms of transport and is an important transport hub in the Central Switzerland region. Hergiswil is a good quarter of an hour from Lucerne and an hour from Zurich – the direct connection to the A2 motorway ensures such short distances. The public transport connections are also excellent. Trains to Lucerne or Stans/Engelberg stop in Hergiswil at regular intervals, as do those traveling in the direction of Sarnen/Brünig.
