Gasthof Engel

The Frei family has been welcoming guests to Gasthof Engel since 1955. Sonja and Simon Frei-Zimmermann are now the third generation to run the business with passion and dedication. They treat their guests to culinary delicacies and exquisite wines. As an inn, Engel also offers overnight accommodation.

Whether you are a meat lover or a vegetarian, everyone will find something to tempt their taste buds at the Engel. We will spoil you with fresh, traditional cuisine and creative new interpretations. We are also happy to put together a menu for you on request.

We serve juicy game, young spring vegetables, and homemade pasta with our wood-fired bread. Regional and seasonal products are very important to us. We adapt the menu according to the season and what is available. This ensures that the Engel serves its guests only the freshest ingredients of the highest quality.

At Gasthof Engel, you will find rooms with very different characters. The Burghornsäli, the charming Lägernsaal, and the Apéro-Klosterkeller can accommodate 30, 80, or 60 people. We would be happy to work with you to plan the perfect event and take the time to respond to your wishes!

Are you planning a trip to picturesque Ehrendingen or are you just passing through? Gasthof Engel offers particularly cozy accommodation with its eight quiet rooms. The simple and bright design of the rooms creates a relaxed atmosphere for an overnight stay. (New from August 2025, open Sundays until 5:00 p.m.)
