A passion for viticulture

Today, Michael and Barbara Wetzel-Meier manage the Goldwand winery and the vineyards of the local community of Baden. We cultivate a total vineyard area of 9.2 hectares in the municipalities of Ennetbaden, Obersiggenthal and Untersiggenthal. In addition to the main variety Pinot Noir (Pinot Noir), we also grow Garanoir, Diolinoir, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet, Riesling Sylvaner, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

The steep, terraced Jura slopes with a gradient of up to 80% enable quality viticulture of a very high standard thanks to optimal sunlight exposure.

Integrated production (IP) not only protects nature, but also guarantees healthy and fertile soil for the future, which the vines need to thrive.

In concrete terms, this means minimal use of chemical additives, limited to easily degradable products and plant nutrition that is largely based on organic fertilizers. Our company has consistently followed these ecological principles for over 30 years.
