The Gutenberg bookshop has been based in Gossau for 143 years, making it the oldest bookshop still in operation in Eastern Switzerland. From children's books and cookbooks to non-fiction and selected fiction, you can buy everything here.

The trained bookseller André Wigger has managed the bookshop with great dedication for many years. Since summer 2022, the team has been complemented by bookseller Lea Cadisch and Sara Jevremovic (in training as a bookseller). Our long-standing employee Maja Scherrer retired at the end of 2023.

The comprehensive book catalog with over 300,000 titles is available for your orders on our homepage. Here you will also find the current events that make us a popular provider nationwide. On request we will open our bookshop again for book lovers in pairs or in groups after closing time and lock you in for three hours for a "GutBuchNacht" in the bookshop, where you can look at books and chat with your friends, acquaintances and relatives over a good glass and snacks.
