Created in 1991 by the 80 member banks of the Geneva Stock Exchange, the Fondation Genève Place Financière is the umbrella body for the financial center.

Generating 35,600 jobs and contributing 12% of Geneva's GDP, the financial sector rests on three pillars: private and institutional wealth management, commodity trade finance, and commercial and retail banking.
