FSMO: why and for whom?
No one is immune to accidents or incurable illnesses. Beyond the human tragedy, when a mother or father dies or becomes disabled, an entire economic and social balance collapses.
Created in 1872, the Fondation de Secours Mutuels aux Orphelins (Mutual Aid Foundation for Orphans) is a non-profit institution whose mission is to help secure the future of children who have lost a parent or whose parent has become disabled.
Plan for the future! Because it doesn't only happen to other people...
Education, training, leisure and early learning activities... Every parent wants the best for their child. But what would happen if you were to pass away or if your health suddenly prevented you from working? Would your child be able to continue their education, remain a member of their sports club, go on vacation? Or would the upheaval in their daily life add to the pain of losing a parent or seeing them diminished in their abilities?
These questions may seem abrupt. Sometimes we refuse to broach the subject out of superstition or fear of the unknown. However, they deserve to be asked. Planning ahead is often the best remedy for anxiety!
Through its work, the FSMO provides you with part of the answer. By joining our foundation, you enable your child to continue their activities and development in the best possible conditions in the event of your death or disability. You give them the opportunity to realize the plans you had made with them.
Independent and responsible: 150 years of serving children!
Financially sound and completely independent, managed by a Foundation Board made up of volunteers with a wide range of skills, FSMO is solely responsible for its activities. Applications are processed quickly by its secretariat. If necessary, information and support can be provided in various areas: administrative, logistical, legal, etc.
Only a mutual, non-profit foundation can offer, for more than 150 years, essential coverage at such a modest price to those who place children at the center of their concerns.
Companies: a small gesture, but one that is greatly appreciated by employees!
In 1872, business leaders were behind the creation of the Fondation de Secours Mutuels aux Orphelins (Mutual Aid Foundation for Orphans) by coming to the aid of the family of one of their own who had been killed in an accident, at a time when social insurance had not yet been "invented." Much later, in 1948, the business community contributed significantly to the creation of the AVS (old age and survivors' insurance), followed in 1985 by occupational pension plans.
Today, more than half of the parents who are members of the FSMO have been affiliated by their companies, large and small, which cover all or part of the cost of membership. Their managers have recognized this as a form of supplementary pension provision that is both welcome and inexpensive. It is a gesture that their employees greatly appreciate and which contributes to their motivation.
Companies also appreciate the opportunity to rely on a third party for certain types of procedures, where necessary.
