Do you snore?
The relaxation of muscles during sleep causes a narrowing of the upper airways. This narrowing accelerates the flow of air, causing the various structures in the upper airways to vibrate and produce the familiar snoring sound. Snoring is therefore a mechanical process that can be counteracted mechanically. This is where dental therapy comes in. Mild or primary snoring has no health consequences, but rhonchopathy, or pathological snoring, does.

The snoring splint I manufacture (product name Silensor-SL) requires an impression of the upper and lower jaw.
