PR Mediation Firm
The PR mediation firm, founded in 2006, welcomes you to its website dedicated to mediation. The mediators at the firm are Paola POZZI and Patricia ROULET-RIME.
Mediation is a process designed to enable parties to re-establish communication when it has become difficult or non-existent. By re-establishing dialogue, it allows the parties to find a solution or a consensual outcome to an existing conflict, or even to prevent a potential conflict.
Mediation offers the parties the opportunity to freely express their points of view within a framework set by the mediators. It has the advantage of tending towards a satisfactory agreement, resulting from the parties' own will, aware of the choices made.
The mediator is either chosen by the parties or appointed by the authorities (e.g., in criminal mediation, the prosecutor or juvenile court judge refers the case to a certified mediator).
The mediator verifies that the parties are willing to enter into mediation. It would be illusory and contrary to the very essence of mediation to think that a party, when it feels coerced, can participate in the development of a fair solution to a dispute.
The mediator's task is to establish a framework in which the parties can express their points of view with respect for each other and in complete confidentiality. The mediator is impartial, neutral, and independent. He or she helps to reestablish communication between the parties in a respectful environment. The mediator's role is to organize and structure the mediation process. The mediator is neither a judge nor an arbitrator but facilitates the emergence of a consensual solution based solely on the parties' wishes.
At the end of the mediation process, the parties may agree on a settlement in the form of a written agreement.
Experience shows that an agreement reached partly through awareness of the other party's position or feelings and partly through the parties' willingness to find a solution to their dispute is, in most cases, respected.
