Founded in 1968 as a sole proprietorship by Walter Bürgin, the tinsmith and flat roofing company Walter Bürgin & Co. was taken over by his sons Markus and Roger Bürgin in 2002. Due to the steady market success, product and market expansion and the associated growth, the partnership was transformed into the public limited company WB Bürgin AG on January 1, 2010.

Roofing (flat roofs and pitched roofs) is the company's core business.
